Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm a little bit late posting this but Allie seemed to really enjoy her first St. Patrick's Day. While she didn't wake up early enough to go out for green eggs and ham with Daddy and Ma, she still had a very full day. It was a beautiful, warm day here so she got to play outside for awhile and wear some summer clothes. Later that night, we met Ma, Pa, Shelley, Rick and the boys up at a local restaurant for dinner. She loved hanging out with Daddy and watching all of the activity! Notice that she's sucking her thumb again too. All-in-all, I think she had a great day!

The Before and After of a Birthday Party

We took Allie to Maggie & Laney's 5th birthday party on Sunday. There were about 10 other kids there and Allie loved watching all of the action! She kicked her feet when kids ran by and wanted to be right in the middle of it. She was WAY overdue for a nap but she didn't want to be taken away from all of the kids. Apparently it all caught up with her because she passed out sitting up as soon as they were done opening up their gifts. She has NEVER done this! She usually needs to be swaddled or rocked to sleep. She doesn't just pass out. It was so funny!

The before picture, taken just before we left our house to go to the party.

The aftermath. Passed out cold!

My new skill

Allie always seems to have one of her hands in her mouth. She chews on her fists, sucks on her fingers and sometimes gags herself with them. Saturday I noticed she was doing something new. She was sucking her thumb like a big kid! It was so cute to watch! She did it a few times on Saturday and almost the whole day on Sunday. I couldn't get great pictures but I did get a couple. It makes me laugh just looking at them!

Come On Springtime!

We had some beautiful weather here in Ohio this week! Tuesday it was 77 degrees! Nick was replacing the burner and a hose on the grill so Allie and I decided to play out on the deck for awhile. She loved being outside and feeling the wind. It was so nice to be out of the house and get some fresh air since we've all had colds this week. A cold front blew through on Wednesday but we're hoping that Spring comes very soon!

We also went for a walk around the block. We let Allie ride in the stroller "like a big girl" instead of in her infant seat. She seemed to really enjoy being able to see what was going on as we walked. I'm so ready for spring!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Okay, so we have a lot of monkeys at our house. Curious George was sitting in Allie's chair when I went to take her pictures today so I thought I'd include him in the fun. They're practically the same size so it was like Allie had a little friend. Here are some pics from the monkey photo shoot:

See any resemblance?

Notice their hands in the same position. It's like they were planning this.

This is my photo shoot George! Get out of the way!

Seriously, get off the chair!

Now that's better!

Here are a couple more, just because she's so cute.

So pretty!

Hopefully she's not showing off something she learned at Mardi Gras night!

There's a New Monkey in Town

Allie received this crazy colorful monkey as a gift the other day. It's perfect for her because it's super soft and light enough that she can hold it on her own. She currently chews on it, as she does with everything these days, but she also likes to look at the bright colors. I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more of this monkey in the coming years. Perhaps we should give it a name?

She's also showing off her new bubble-blowing skills in these pictures. She's pretty good!

Allie's 1st Mardi Gras

Nick, Allie and I met Ma and Pa at a local restaurant / bar for dinner Friday. They were having a Mardi Gras celebration so Allie got her first experience with that craziness. It really wasn't too crazy since we were only there at dinner time. She really enjoyed listening to the live music and seemed to like all of the neon lights and TVs. If we could guarantee that all of her future Mardi Gras celebrations would be this tame her father would be a very happy man.
