Our Daughter's Face

We were lucky enough to have a 3D/4D ultrasound this weekend as our anniversary gift to each other. Dick and Linda came with us and Edgar and Shelley were able to view the whole ultrasound live from their home computer. Neptune was kicking and moving all around and kept shielding her face from the ultrasound tech for the first few minutes. Finally she settled down and gave us some great shots of her adorable little face. It was so surreal to sit and watch our little girl on the TV screen and know that she will be here soon. I kept thinking to myself, "I can't believe that is OUR daughter. One we get to keep forever and ever."

The ultrasound tech was oohing and aahing over her every move and kept commenting on how cute she is. Nick says that she probably says that about everyone's baby, but I'm pretty sure our little Neptune is just extra-cute. She's a definite cuddle-bug and kept trying to cuddle with the placenta. Too cute! We got to see her smile several times and she even opened one eye for a few seconds. There's no doubt that she's my baby either. The ultrasound tech said she had some "serious thighs for a baby," long hands and feet and was already developing fat rolls and a double chin. Looks like she's going to be a chunky baby!

It was the best anniversary gift either of us could have imagined. Now we can't wait to see her face in person!
